| I had a
big Jaguar day the morning this turned up from eBay - according to the
sticker on the bonnet this one is 'Jaguar Powered'. On the
same day I received in the post a Corgi 208s Jag Mk1 2.4 litre and a
Dinky Jag Mk X. Three XK motors in one morning's post, deep joy. Among the sad, poorly modelled items appearing in the Corgi range in the early Seventies this one is both good and fun. The detail on the engine is very good it is very easily recognisable as a Jaguar XK straight six. One suspects bored out a bit beyond 4.2 litres, not sure how you share 4 carbs between six cylinders though. There's some pictures of the real thing here too, the top two date from the same period as the model, the lower two show the car slightly modified. I like this one. |
