For all of the sixties and seventies the Land Rover & Pony Trailer were the part of staple Corgi fare. For a Swansea based engineering firm they always had a tweedy, country feel to this part of the range. While some of the modellers were off creating Italian supercars, there was always a well grounded bunch making tractors, combines and models like this. This is a nicely modelled, well made and faithful representation of a horsebox you can see on the road every weekend from Oxfordshire to the Cotswolds - and it makes a very handsome pairing with the 109" Land Rover Series 2. This one should have a mare & foal. |

The Rice's Beaufort double horse box was added to the catalogue in February 1969 and remained in production until 1972. It is always light blue with a white roof and is found in gift sets as well as a stand-alone item. |
