Check
out how many models in the Museum from the late sixties and early seventies are
in this dark metallic maroon and how all of them have similarly chipped paint.
Here
though we have the Corgi modellers at their peak, they have taken a car which
was in real life a pug and created an elegant model. It's got some nice novel
features too like take-off wheels, faired in headlamps and very nicely detailed
interior & engine. Those stripes below the doors too - they were must-have for
souped up Cortinas and Anglias in '68. I like this one very much.
The
No.341 Mini Marcos was produced from 1968 to 1970 in metallic maroon with no
listed variations. No.305, which was the same casting but with Whizzwheels and
in white competition trim was released in 1972. |
