Try as I
might I can find no reference to Pennyburn trailers on the internet. The nearest
I came to a clue was an industrial estate in Oldbury in the West Midlands called
the Pennyburn estate - maybe there was a trailer maker there in the Sixties who
named their trailer after their location? Tenuous I know.
I
actually spent my own pocket money on one of these and I still have it -
although it is a complete wreck and not featured on this website. Corgi added it
to the range in 1968 and it was deleted in 1969. There should be a pick, shovel
and brush inside the trailer. It is not a particularly sought after model and
values are modest. The core range item was always blue on a yellow chassis
although you will also see it in metallic blue with a white chassis and no tools
inside. This is from a gift set, GS10 where it is paired with a Rambler Marlin
Fastback as a camping trailer. |
