This nice set was introduced in August 1968 and remained in the range until 1972. It shares the basic Renault 16 casting with No.260 which was the R16 car in maroon with opening front and back and reclining front seats. The stand-alone car was released the following year, 1969 and was withdrawn the same year being replaced with a blue version of the same car with Whizzwheels, No.202. No.202 remained in the range until 1972. However the Gift Set was never released as far as I can see with Whizzwheels, which you would sort of have expected. The set consists of the car, a cameraman on a platform and a cyclist figure on a bicycle. Sales were not great and because it is not that easy to find prices are high. |

Well, it's part of the set. there should be a man on a push bike following behind. This is also a part completed restoration job. The base is still loose and it is missing the decals and the correct roof sign for Paramount News. The driver and camera man are there though and I know you can get replacement cyclists, they even turn up on eBay sometimes. So, come the day, it can be fixed up. |
