RAMBLER MARLIN, KAYAKS AND CAMPING TRAILER

CORGI

GS10

The kayaks have been lost and the suspension has collapsed on the car, otherwise not too bad. The missing bits can be replaced, originals do come up for sale sometimes, or you can get replacements. I'm going to have a go at the suspension using the same technique I used on my MGB and my Batmobile. There are a number of models where the suspension was provided by plastic tongues moulded on to either the plated bumpers or to the interior unit. In almost all cases they collapse like this one has done as the plastic tongues break off.

With a bit of luck and ingenuity traditional Corgi spring wires can be introduced and at the time of writing I have some on order from Steve Flowers. What I've not been able to get though is a replacement door liner for the car.

Does it work as a model? I always think the Marlin is a bit of a weird looking car anyway, this trailer is obviously a workman's trailer, usually the sort that contains temporary traffic lights at road works, add to that the mismatch in scale then the answer is no -  not really.
