OK, OK I know it's not the real one. This is a modern re-make of the 1967 original. It will do for now as a placeholder until I can find the real thing at the right price. Is it true that this car was never a roadster? That it was a hardtop coupe which was chopped for the movie You Only Live Twice? My Observers Books of Automobiles for 1968 & 69 only mention a coupe and I have a memory somewhere of a photo of the car being chopped for the film. If so then Toyota missed a trick as it works really nicely as a ragtop.

The Toyota Sports was made from 1967 to 1969, the original has rockets that actually fire from the boot and some of the gadgets detailed on the interior. It should also has a James Bond figure firing from the passenger seat and a Japanese lady driver (Akiko Wakabayashi ). To get full value the diorama box should be complete with the missiles still on the sprue and a sealed envelope containing 'secret instructions'. Values for these are quite high and they are not that easy to find. There are no listed variations.
