I'm in two minds about this one really. Some vandal has painted the white roof red and ruined the originality of a rare and pretty little model Mini, however had it not had its roof painted it would have probably been out of my price range. This was only in the Corgi range for a short time and not that many were made. It always goes for a high price and this one was a bargain at £6.50, which I don't think too bad never mind the roof repaint. I've cleaned off the red paint - but not risked repainting it white.
The model bears an uncanny resemblance to 339 the 1967 Monte Carlo Mini with the removal of the roof rack and a change of decals. The interior has been changed from the standard mini. There are two rally seats in the front and a lot of recovery gear in the back. Altogether a nice little package.
They are rare and always going to be expensive. The Morris grille cars more so than the Austin according to Ramsay, however to get anything like full value that temporary box is vital
