It's a proper Corgi - even has the old
spun hub wheels - and the true
trademarks of Corgi; opening everything - naturally, OK but it's a
stretch limo so lets give it darkened windows - and purple flock
carpets, including in the boot - Oh and just to finish it off, a telly
in the back where you can't really see it, requiring a whole load of
stuff under the car - yep, that's the way to make a Corgi. And - it is
all been put inside a finely made model. The model is a slight anachronism though. The wheels for instance, all the
new models for ages have had cast wheels of some sort, turned wheels are getting
to be out of date, but the car was sold in a bubble-pack, must have been just
about the first to be sold that way. It harks back to the early Sixties, the
last gasp maybe of the true Corgi? You will find this in gold with a
black roof or pale blue and tan. The blue cars get the best price. It
was produced from 1967 to 1969
This one's a bit bashed about and the
telly's been nicked, the back window has been put out - looks like it's
been working the late night taxi trade in Liverpool! - look at that
twisted boot lid, it has come somewhat down-market.
