The Marcos 1800GT was added to the range in 1966 and
remained in production until 1969. This car is either white or blue. The
white car generally has green racing stripes but has been reported with
blue stripes. The blue car has white stripes and a pale blue interior.
Of the two commonly found versions the blue one gets a premium over the
white car with green stripes. The white car with blue stripes is the
highest value.
When the car was deleted in 1969 it was re-released
with Whizzwheels. The updated version lost the opening doors and has a
revised engine casting. It is number 377 and found in orange, blue,
metallic blue and metallic blue/green.
When I spotted the blue one on eBay I had to have it.
You hardly ever see the blue one, but look closely at the pictures, this
one is really not well put together, it has even managed somehow to lose
it's dashboard and steering wheel, I still love it though. |
