FORWARD CONTROL

JEEP FC150 WITH DETACHABLE HOOD

As a Land Rover fan it's hard to accept that Jeep got there first again with the Forward Control machine a good few years before the Land Rover 101 turned up - although the Land Rover Series 2B forward control had been around for a while it was more of a lorry than a pick-up.

This casting had been in the Corgi catalogue since 1959. The early release had no interior, solid axles and no rear tilt. In 1965 it was given a bit of a make-over, just like the 'S' models in 1960/61 it got seats, springs and a new feature - the detachable hood. There are two colour options under this model number:  a sort of French navy or metallic khaki green, each with a detachable grey plastic tilt and a red painted grille. Values are fairly modest for both. You will see the later Jeep with a cherry picker on the back and a luggage elevator.
