There was so much newness in 1964, this one had the vacuum plated plastic trim and two brand-new features, opening windows and working windscreen wipers - wipers driven from the back-axle, wonderful engineering on a miniature scale.

There were any number of 'By Special Requests' but this is the only 'By Repeated Requests' I've come across. I can just imagine (not) hundreds of young lads in 1964 writing in to Corgi saying 'we just must have a Merc 600 limo' We didn't even know it existed!

This is another unintended film tie in - it is the car driven by Daryl Van Horne in The Witches of Eastwick, now driven in short wheelbase form by Jeremy Clarkson
