OK, so we
first got vacuum plated plastic detailing on the Corvette Stingray and here it
comes again, this time with opening everything - AND - a decal for dashboard
detail and a real rear view mirror, tipping seats, proper interior detail and
door liners, plated detailed engine and they even remembered jewelled lights.
The only mistake - and it was a big one - was using the plastic bumpers to
provide suspension, that's why these always sit so low, it just was not
resilient enough. Some of Corgi's best, the MGB, Mustang, Imp, Rambler Marlin -
they all suffer with suspension sag for the same reason. This is still one of Corgi's finest that sold in hundreds of thousands - and there was only
ever about seven of the real car made! |

The Ghia L 6.4 was added to the Corgi range in 1963 and remained
in production to 1969. It can be found in six different finishes
according to my sources, although I have not seen all of them. Colours are: metallic blue and white, metallic green, metallic gold,
metallic blue, metallic copper and metallic lime-gold. They are of
similar value with the metallic blue and the metallic lime-gold being
the best priced versions.
The list on the right contains the features Corgi claimed for this
ground-breaking model |
