I've never seen one of these in anything like reasonable condition at a price I was prepared to pay. I spotted this one at a toy fair in Chester April 07 and thought the price reasonable for the condition and bought it. Although the wear to the paint is considerable it is not unappealing as an object. The broken parts can be replaced fairly easily, but I won't touch the paint. It should have a detachable roof and I may get a replacement - however the model behind the link below on Nigel's site appears to have a replacement roof - as well as a repaint - and I'm not convinced. The ones on the right from Chris Davidson's collection are genuine though and the roof still looks a bit dodgy, perhaps it was never that brilliant
The model however is a finely sculpted version of the Mk1 E-Type and a really pretty car it is too. Corgi have truly done this one justice, it is truly beautiful.
