CIRCUS LAND-ROVER AND ELEPHANT CAGE SET |
These came from six separate purchases and some new decals from Steve Flowers. I got the rear tilt for the Land Rover on a complete dog of a red Land Rover, since sold on. Then I looked for a really nice red Land Rover to put it on, purchase 2. The trailer popped up when I was looking for any old 101 flatbed trailer, but if you look closely there are two different trailers in these pictures. I recently got a better one in a mixed lot, I bought it because it was with a pale blue trailer I wanted for the Milk Lorry Gift Set, purchases 4&5. Next came the instructions which I got for surprisingly little money, less than a couple of quid, purchase 5. Next thing was the crate, they are as rare as hens teeth. They were sold as kits so relied on a child to put them together and if trodden on would shatter, no wonder there are so few left, purchase 6. This one came without decals so I bought some new ones. I ordered two thinking two stickers, but two sets turned up. With a lot of misgiving I scraped the very worn originals of the Land-Rover tilt and stuck the new ones on. Now all I need is an elephant and they do turn up occasionally. This set is now worth serious cash.
You can buy them as aftermarket kits, but I'd really like the real thing if I can find one, however the prices do tend to get silly.
