This is a case of the 's' upgrade transforming the car into a far more appealing package. The original Jag 2.4 is not that attractive, putting suspension on it and adding seats has completely transformed it.

The revamped Jaguar Fire Chief's Car was released in March 1961 and was deleted the following year. It is always red with a yellow interior however a deep cherry red version is known and these have sold for quite high prices. The normal red version is valued at a similar rate to the old solid axle release.

This one is slightly battered, but out of the three Corgis with this roof beacon this is the only one in my collection still retaining its bell. This model shares the roof-beacon casting with the original Jag Fire Chief and with the Riley Pathfinder Police car.
