This BRM P25 was raced from 1956 to 1959;
it was initially unsuccessful, not winning a race until a long
awaited victory at the Dutch Grand Prix in 1959. Colin Chapman
having helped to improve the car in 1956. Stirling Moss believed
that the BRM engine was superior to the Coventry-Climax unit used in
his Cooper, and a P25 was briefly run in 1959 for Moss by the British Racing
Partnership.The
Corgi BRM Racing Car was added to the range in 1958 as No.152
coloured lighter or darker green with racing numbers 1,3 or 7. This
later version was 152s, released in 1961 with the addition of spring
suspension and, 152s was recoloured in jade green, given a driver
and had a Union Jack added to the bonnet with the same racing
numbers. It remained in production through to 1965. The later 's' version is
priced significantly higher than the older unsprung version. |
