Actually it is not - the one on the left that is - not a Corgi Number 50 Massey Ferguson 65, originally this example had a front end loader, which is why it has a hole through the bonnet just in front of the steering wheel. It's a 53 or a 57 with the loader broken off. What else is wrong? The steering wheel is missing as are both rear mudguards, the front tyres are wrong and one of the back ones has acquired a strange grey patina, there is something black and nasty on the seat and just to finish it off someone has had a go at repainting it - oh and one of the front wheels is broken. This is a perfect piece of evidence that you should not bid on eBay late at night after a few glasses of red wine, you end up buying rubbish. Since the pictures were taken I've broken this one down for spares.

However I have now bought a nicely playworn - and complete - Fergie 65, and that's the one on the right. These are both fairly late releases, early ones had cast metal wheels. This is a fine model in the best Corgi tradition, accurate, evocative and durable with solid play value. It was a huge seller, almost a million pieces sold as a solo model with no loader, another half million in gift sets and one and two-thirds million pieces in the loader versions. Over three million Fergie 65s sold in all.
