Another iconic US motor from the fifties in a model that lasted well into then next decade in a variety of guises - this was the first and it's a nice piece of modelling too

This is the 'Mechanical' version - with the friction motor built in. These were never really a success and were very quickly withdrawn. This is a good, honest example with reasonable playwear for a 50 year old toy. Now that I've cleaned it up a little I can see it has been viciously attacked around the rear off-side wheel arch with a hacksaw or something similar.
