The Agricultural Gift Set is an exclusively Massey Ferguson affair consisting of a Massey 780 Combine, a 65 Tractor and a 30cwt Trailer, wrong trailer to cart the grain off the field though. The set was in the range between 1959 and 1962.
A tanker combine cuts the corn which it lifts into the body of the machine where the grain is separated from the straw. Next the husks and weed seed separated and screened from the grain. The straw drops out of the back into a swath which can be picked up by a baler. The grain, which is the precious bit, is put into the big, square tank on the near side of the machine. When the tank is full a tractor brings a trailer alongside and the grain is sent into the trailer via the big spout, only the trailers are not like this, they are steel with high sides to hold a good load of grain. It's good enough for play though.
