The second Gift Set Corgi came up with was in the spring of 1958. It was the Land Rover and Horse Box which in one form or another seems to have stayed in the range ever since. This is the earliest version. When the Land Rover was remodelled as a Series 2 the horse box got a cast tow bar and the whole rig was resprayed in two-tone beige.
I've put this together from the models in my collection. The horse is right for the set, but the bit missing is the fawn coloured tin rear tilt (load bay cover) for the land rover. One of those things usually lost (trodden on and squashed) - but I'm on the lookout should one turn up. You can get replacements so I might go for one of those.
