Another of the many Bedford CA van models this time with a friction
motor. The Dormobile 'Utilicon' crew bus was released in year one of the
Corgi brand, 1956, with both freewheeling axles and the mechanical
flywheel friction motor. These early releases were in the first casting
with the split windscreen and the earlier style radiator grille. In 1959
the mechanical version was dropped from the range and the free-wheeling
version upgraded to the new casting with the single-piece windscreen and
the updated radiator.
So the Bedford Dormobile Personnel Carrier
(404M) was released in 1956 and deleted in 1959. It is found in light
blue, described as sea blue, teal or turquoise, or metallic maroon.
neither version gets a premium over the other but these are not that
easy to find and will cost. |
