The Austin A55 Cambridge was part of the original 1956 line-up of
British cars. The mechanical version, with its flywheel friction motor
remained in the range until 1959. Colours are Orange, red grey and cream
with all of them being valued highly as it did not sell that well and
there are fewer around. Look
out though for an orange car as they are about double the value of the
other colours. It took me a long time to find this mechanical version, the one with
the friction motor, and when I did it was in a very poor way - it had
been repainted very badly indeed. I've had a go at restoring it and
while it looks a lot better than it did I've made a bit of a mess of the
silver paintwork. I used what I thought was chrome paint but it has come
out grey. I may not have stirred it enough. |
